2. Jason Kills Adrienne - Jason X
You know a series has hit rock bottom when plans for a sequel involve sending the main character into space. This is exactly what happened in Jason X, the tenth instalment in the Friday the 13th saga.
Jason Voorhees is captured by the US government and cryogenically frozen, only to be accidentally awoken 445 years later. When he wakes from his enforced slumber, the hockey mask-wearing madman gets straight back to what he's best at - killing people.
His first victim is Adrienne, a young intern who was tasked with dissecting Jason's body. After sneaking up on her, Jason grabs Adrienne's head and dunks it into a freezing cold tank of liquid nitrogen. If that wasn't bad enough, he then slams the head-cicle into a nearby counter, smashing it into tiny pieces.
Cool kill, right? Shame about the rest of the film.
Whilst Jason X is now seen by some as a bit of silly fun, it is a far cry from the halcyon days of the early Friday films. It is a parody of itself and not always in a good way, but hey, at least we got to see someone's frozen brains bashed in.
