10 Terrible Movies That Made Great Actors Look Like Failed Amateurs

7. Kevin Spacey - Father Of Invention

A movie has to be seriously bad to cast Kevin Spacey in a mediocre light. Sure, K-PAX and Shrink were no classics, and were probably not worthy of the actor's talents, but King Kev rose above the material and performed as admirably as ever. But not even Mr Spacey comes out of Father Of Invention smelling like roses. Nobody does. He's utterly committed to his role as always, but the screenplay gives him the unappealing, irritating character of Robert Axel to play - an inventor who is sent to prison after his Ab-cruncher/chair amalgamation snaps off several customers' fingers. After finishing his sentence he is forced to rebuild his life, in a dull, dreary, predictable farce of a film that seems to go on forever. Joke after joke after joke falls flat, and as the credits roll you're left wondering if director Trent Cooper actually had Spacey kidnapped to make him play this role. Father of Invention is unusually bad.

Gaz Lloyd hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
