10 Things About The DC Movie Universe That Make No Sense

4. Harley Quinn's Suicide Squad Membership

It feels like Suicide Squad included The Joker and Harley Quinn purely because it could, for the sole reason that Warner Bros greenlit the use of these characters to raise the movie's profile.

They had no compelling reason to be there and should have been introduced in their own movie, or at least a Batman film where the pair are the main villains.

Harley's inclusion in the Suicide Squad is particularly problematic. Amanda Waller assembled a crack team of expendables to get a tough job done, but what can a mentally ill woman with no superpowers really bring to the table?

Sure, she's handy enough with a baseball bat, but is that really enough credentials for a spot on a team which includes two Metahumans? And that's not even taking into account how a loose cannon like Harley could have jeopardised the mission.

A woman with Waller's resources should really have picked up on how much of a wild card Harley is. She will have had intel about her connection to The Joker, which should have been a massive red flag in itself.

Granted, Harley has served in the Suicide Squad in the comics, but director David Ayer was at liberty to provide a compelling reason to explain why she was selected for the team, what credentials she actually has and why they outweigh the massive drag factor of her insanity.
