10 Things Christopher Eccleston Has Done Since Leaving Doctor Who
7. The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising
Naturally, Christopher Eccleston has had many film roles since leaving Doctor Who. One film featuring the former Time Lord that may have escaped the notice of Doctor Who fans is the 2007 flop The Seeker: The Dark is Rising. In this lacklustre fantasy piffle, Eccleston is The Dark Rider (it's one of those names that capitalises the "The"), the enemy from which the teenager hero is born to save the world. For those who still care, the film is based on the second of Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising books. Still care? Well, the film was greeted with just dire reviews. Unsurprisingly, Eccleston and the other decent actor in it, Ian McShane, are the only things worth watching. They do what they can with some pretty terrible exposition but there are clearly limits to just how much a turd can be polished.
