10. Lex Luthor Unites Batman And Superman

The news that Jesse Eisenberg had been cast as Superman's nemesis spawned a chorus of wails from across the internet. Lex Luthor is one of the most formidable foes in the entire DC Universe, and fear may not be among the emotions immediately instilled by Eisenberg's presence. Nonetheless, it's fairly clear that Lex will be the primary antagonist of the Man of Steel sequel, regardless of which version of the character Eisenberg brings to the screen. Despite the backlash, there are certainly plenty of ways that the casting can work. It will be up to Eisenberg to sell the move, but it will be up to the writers to bring the younger version of Lex into the world created in Man of Steel in a way that makes sense. The casting of a younger-than-expected Lex and an older-than-expected Batman is also interesting. Rumour has it that Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne will be a tired crime-fighter, and if Lex presents a fresh challenge then a partnership with Superman will be all the more likely.
