10 Things Hollywood Needs To Stop Doing (But Never Will)

4. Stop Adapting Young-Adult (And Nicholas Sparks) Novels

the-notebook I have no idea if Nicholas Sparks is a good author or not as I haven't read any of his books, but there few other author whose books are so often turned into ridiculous travesties as much as Spark's are. Sadly, his movies only constitute a small part of the massive amount of movies being made that are based on Young-Adult movies. The trend started with the excellent Harry Potter series, but unfortunately it was so popular that movie studios decided to adapt every series that was even close to popular and now we have to deal with a new Twilight or Hunger Games series every year for the foreseeable future. While I do think that this is a trend that will run it's course, it still will be one of the most annoying parts of the movie business for the next 10 to 15 years.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
