10 Things In The DCEU That Make No Sense
3. Why Doesn't Anyone In Justice League Hide The Mother Boxes?
Eons ago, Steppenwolf attempted to terraform the world using three artefacts called Mother Boxes. When he was defeated, the forces of Earth separated the Boxes in three different locations in case Steppenwolf returned.
Although the Boxes are spread apart, they are not hidden. When Steppenwolf tracks the first Box in Themyscira, the artefact is out in the open. Why isn't it in a safe or hidden under a bed or something? Instead, it's in the middle of a room, waiting for Steppenwolf to steal (which is exactly what he does).
The supervillain then makes his way to Atlantis for the second Box. Since he has one in his possession, you'd assume the Atlanteans would bolster their efforts to protect their Box, right? Nope. This one is also unhidden, allowing Steppenwolf to take it with ease.
When Steppenwolf has difficulty locating the third Box, he kidnaps scientists at STAR Labs who have worked with the artefact. Since he can tap into the Box's residual energy, Steppenwolf believes he can locate it by using the STAR Labs worker.
If Steppenwolf can do this, why doesn't he track Cyborg; a superhero who is literally made of the Mother Box and has the artefact in his possession?
