10 Things In The DCEU That Make No Sense

2. The Phantom Zone In Man Of Steel Could Have Saved Everyone

In Man of Steel, Superman's father, Jor-El, warns the Council of Krypton that the planet's core is weakening, which will eventually cause the world to implode. Although his friend, General Zod, is convinced, the Council dismisses Jor-El's theories.

Out of desperation, Zod storms the Council, killing several members. For his crimes, Zod and his subordinates are banished to a pocket dimension called The Phantom Zone.

Months later, the Kryptonians realise that Jor-El was correct and Krypton is doomed. With little time, Jor-El fashions a rudimentary vessel, places his infant inside it, and blasts it into space just before the planet blows up. The destruction of Krypton automatically activates the Phantom Zone, freeing Zod and his minions.

You see where I am going with this? Why didn't the Kryptonians hide in The Phantom Zone the instant they realised the planet was crumbling?

Now, I don't know the specifics of this pocket dimension. I don't know if it can house a hundred people, a thousand, or a million. But, surely a few Kryptonians here and there would have considered relocating to the Phantom Zone to save some of their civilisation, right?
