10 Things That Would Make You Excited For DC’s Cinematic Universe

4. Lay Off The Big Screen Destruction

Fans were displeased that so much of Metropolis was destroyed by Superman and Zod€™s final showdown in Man Of Steel. Reports suggest that in Batman V Superman, congressional hearings will try to hold Superman responsible for this destruction in order to appease angry fans, but DC need to learn (quickly) that an abundance of apocalyptic scenes will not guarantee them success. We all want to see a big fight, too omit one would be a disservice to the genre, but the conflict does not need to level a city to be spectacular. The climax of Henry Cavill€™s inaugural outing as the Last Son of Krypton was breathtaking in terms of special effects, choreography and intensity. However, it was not exactly easy to empathise with a character when he is causing almost as much devastation as his enemy. DC need to strike a balance, otherwise the action packed content will alienate audiences and leave people lethargic to further films. Batman V Superman will shed a lot of light on the direction of the DC Cinematic Universe, and it will be a good judge of whether we should prepare for a set of films where apocalyptic battles tear down monumental cities on a regular basis.
