10 Things Marvel Fans Don't Want To Accept About Sony's Marvel Universe
1. It's Time For Spider-Man To Grow Up
While there's no denying that Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's Amazing Spider-Man stories serve as a great basis for any adaptation featuring this character, it's time for Peter Parker to grow up. Filmmakers and fans alike seem obsessed with exploring the idea of the wall-crawler being in school or college while looking after his Aunt May, but it's been done... in seven solo outings!
The character needs to move beyond being educated and enter the adult world. Whether it's as a photographer for The Daily Bugle struggling to pay his bills or a high school science teacher, there are better stories to be had from that setting and more exciting issues to tackle.
The nostalgia factor of Spider-Man in school is understandable, but this would serve as something of a fresh start for the hero. Should Spider-Man 3 once again take place in high school, it's quite literally going to take upwards of a decade for Tom Holland to move past that and college on screen, an undeniably tedious prospect.
Just let him grow up and be daring enough to try something new with the webbed wonder... what's the worst thing that can happen?
