10 Things Marvel Fans Don't Want To Accept About The MCU
6. Most Of The Movies Are Basically Action-Comedies
Marvel Studios does very rarely tackle some hard-hitting subjects, and there are some great emotional beats in movies like Black Panther and Avengers: Endgame. However, while there are many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who insist that there are no other franchises capable of telling the deep stories that this shared world does, they're overlooking one key fact.
Ever since The Avengers was released in 2012, every MCU movie is basically an action-comedy!
Now, there's nothing wrong with superhero adaptations having some laughs in them, but Thor: Ragnarok - an admittedly terrific film - was a full-blown comedy. The same can be said for the likes of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Iron Man 3, and Captain Marvel, and while it's a formula that clearly works for them, these movies aren't as serious as some would like to think.
What's frustrating about this, of course, is that when Warner Bros. deliver a dark movie like Joker or even a comedic one like Shazam!, they come under fire for trying to be too serious or copying Marvel!
