4. The Franchise: Three Films And A Theme Park

Warner Brothers has certainly reacted to the tremendous amount of enthusiasm fans presented when learning that there would be another film addition to the Harry Potter universe. They are understandably pretty eager to continue to cash in on its success for as long as possible, and it's with that in mind that they recently announced that this film will be the beginning of a trilogy. We can expect the release of three new films to Harry Potter canon, although it's unclear at this point what the next two films will be about. It's likely that they will be a continuation of Newt Scamander's adventures, but it's also possible that the films will feature him but also have a significant focus on other characters. Beyond that, it's far too early to get into specifics. What we do know is that Warner Brothers is showing a huge amount of faith in the series, in greenlighting the two follow up films at this stage of the proceedings. They are tentatively slated to be released in November 2018 and 2020. In addition to the film trilogy, there are also plans for a theme park, presumably to sync up with the already established (and fantastic) Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Islands of Adventure.
