10 Things The MCU Wishes It Could've Done Differently

3. Teased The X-Men Early On

The Disney-Fox merger took a long time to complete, but now that it's gone through, the X-Men can officially join the MCU.

Now, the only question is how Marvel Studios plans to execute such a tricky integration of these massive groups of characters, given that, up until this point in the MCU, there hasn't been a single hint that the X-Men exist within this universe. Essentially, the MCU will need to come up with a reason to explain why millions of mutants around the globe just popped up out of nowhere.

Sure, this could be explained away by saying that one of the recent snaps caused a certain section of the population to sprout powers (alternatively, the multiverse could be used as the catalyst), but nothing would've felt as natural as being able to tease and build up the X-Men for the past several years, or even since day one.

While there's no way on Earth Disney and Marvel Studios could've actually done that (Fox has owned the X-Men movie rights for many years), it would've been so much easier for them if they could've seeded mutants, Xavier's school, and this whole other section of powered beings - who are feared by society, as the X-Men traditionally are - early on. It's going to take a lot of hard work to have all that make sense in the currently-established MCU.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
