10 Things To Expect From Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4

3. Female Thor

A major talking point in the comic movie world right now is the depressing lack of female-led films, something the upcoming Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman are looking to remedy.

As well as the potential for a Black Widow movie in the future, what about the appearance of a female Thor? The Asgardian was famously (and controversially) gender-swapped in a 2014 comic, and though there's not much indication as to whether or not Chris Hemsworth is yet tiring of the role, if he does decide to exit for Phase 4, introducing a female version of the character would be a refreshing change.

For one, it wouldn't feel forced or an act of tokenism because we all know how bada** female Asgardian warriors look (just look at Sif), and with the right casting, it would be a clever re-interpretation of the character.

As for how these circumstances would come about? That's anyone's guess, but honestly, just doing the gender-swap without much of an explanation would probably go down just fine, especially if Thor had potentially been off screens for a few years beforehand.
