10 Things We Know About The Future Of The X-Men Movies

5. A Kitty Pryde Movie Is Currently In Development...

Kitty Pryde
Marvel Comics

Played by Ellen Page in X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Kitty Pryde is a powerful mutant who possesses a 'phasing' ability - allowing her to walk through walls and other solid objects.

In January of this year, sources confirmed to Collider that a standalone Kitty Pryde movie was in development over at Fox, with Deadpool director Tim Miller shepherding the project, with an eye to direct. A month later, Brian Michael Bendis was hired to pen the script.

It's unclear whether Ellen Page would reprise her role or whether it would be recast, but it's still very much early days for this movie and it's definitely a couple of years off, at least.

In their initial report, Collider stressed that just because the movie is being worked on, that doesn't mean it'll actually happen. The Disney merger will also complicate matters. Still, like we mentioned earlier, Fox is pressing ahead as though Disney isn't even a factor, and as a result, Kitty Pryde is moving along rather smoothly.
