If the idea of a solo Kitty Pryde movie sounds strange, you haven't heard anything yet.

In November 2017, the trades reported that none other than James Franco would be joining the X-Men movie universe in a standalone Multiple Man flick, with the script being written by Wonder Woman scribe Allan Heinberg.

Multiple Man/Jamie Madrox is a mutant with the ability to create duplicates of himself, which can then attack or distract enemies. It's a cool, visually-interesting power, and should make for some creative action sequences and character confrontations.

In an interview with THR, Franco insinuated that the movie would be rated R, and would attempt to create its own unique voice and tone, in a similar manner to Deadpool and Logan:

“Our bottom line MO is, how can we push this into new ground? A little bit, but still make it entertaining? What I love about what Simon Kinberg and Fox and the X-Men people have done with Deadpool and Logan - it took a while to get there, maybe 10 years - but they are going to go hard R. And we're going to take this superhero thing and really just push it into a new genre."

Again, we'll reiterate that the Disney deal could change things, but as far as Fox is concerned, they're pushing ahead and carefully developing this movie.
