10 Things We Want To See In Simon Kinberg's Battlestar Galactica Film

5. The Cylon Homeworld

One thing that both the original series and the re-imagined chose not to display was the homeworld of the Cylon race. This would have been the planet that they escaped to after the end of the First Cylon War. Ronald D. Moore spoke specifically on this, saying that at the time of the re-imagined series, they deliberately chose not to depict it, owing to the fact that the imagination of the audience would be better able to fill in that particular blank.

Having said that, this is an interesting, unexplored facet of the franchise. The Cylons of 2003 had evolved to human form after years of torturous experiments on captured humans. However, what would an oasis have looked like for them on their first arrival on their world? It need not necessarily be something that would be attractive to human beings, as the first Cylon settlers were robotic and mechanical, both outside and in.
