10 Things You Didn't Know About Michael Myers
4. He Originally Killed Busta Rhymes
Born Trevor Smith, and best known for the song Woo Hah (Got You All In Check), Busta Rhymes appears in Halloween: Resurrection as “Freddie Harris”, a name clearly intended to reference Danielle Harris (Halloween 4 & 5, Rob Zombie’s Halloween) and Freddie Jones from Scooby Doo.
You’ll wonder if you’re watching a cartoon when Rhymes/Smith kicks down a door with the zinger “Trick or treat, mother**ker!”, but before that he gets to fight Michael with mixed martial arts and before that he insults Michael with a jaw-dropping speech that ends with him telling Myers to “scoot, skedaddle, get the f**k outta Dodge!” Unanimously considered the worst character ever, he’s the only one who ever got to slap Michael and walk away.
In the first cut of the film, however, things were very different. Then called Halloween: Homecoming, the movie ended with Michael snapping Freddie’s neck before being bested by final girl Sara (Bianca Kajlich), but was pulled back for reshoots when the film tested badly. Said reshoots included Busta’s fabled “trick or treat” entrance, so you can judge their success for yourself.
