10 Things You Didn't Know About Alan Rickman

6. He Has An Amazing Singing Voice

Despite his tuneful talking in the music video for Start A Family by Texas, Rickman is actually a very talented singer, who has no need to hide behind lilting speech.

While most people who've heard Rickman singing have probably only done so in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street (in which he brilliantly portrays corrupt Judge Turpin), there are other examples of the man's fantastic singing. In the 1991 film Truly, Madly, Deeply, for example, Rickman sings a duet of the song The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore) by The Walker Brothers with Juliet Stevenson. The duet is gorgeous, and absolutely worth listening to, an example of yet another one of Rickman's unique talents. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZ52td1GMT0
