Bruce Lee wasn't just a physical force of nature, you know; he had a more artistic side, too. Which is to say, the man best renowned for punching and whacking folk with nun-chucks also happened to be a keen poet. Yes, Bruce would often relax by sitting down and writing poetry - many of which can be read in his book "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do." A man named John Little discovered 21 further poems in Lee's personal archives, and describes them as such: "The poems are, by American standards, rather dark - reflecting the deeper, less exposed recesses of the human psyche... Many seem to express a returning sentiment of the fleeting nature of life, love and the passion of human longing." Not a particularly happy collection, then. Poetry aside, Lee was also a really talented drawer and sketch artist - he loved to sketch martial arts-esque sequences, usually with characters caught in mid-battle. These would often inspire the scenes glimpsed in his motion picture ventures. So now you know: even if you're the best fighter on the planet, poetry and drawing still make for great pastimes.
