10 Things You Didn't Know About Cyclops

5. He's A Time Traveler

In the comic books, Cyclops appears to be in his late thirties or early forties. However, various time-travel shenanigans mean that he's much older. When his infant son, Cable, was infected with a techno-organic virus by the villain Apocalypse, Scott and Jean decided that it would be better for them to raise him in the distant future where it was safer. How a devastated wasteland is safer than modern-day America is anyone's guess. The Summers family spent roughly twelve years living as Slym, Red, and Nathaniel Dayspring. Scott and Jean were the same age when they returned to the present, leaving the teenage Nathaniel in the future where he became one of his era's greatest heroes. When he returned, Cable had already reached adulthood, and now appears to be significantly older than his father.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
