10 Things You Didn't Know About Mark Hamill
8. He Directed A Mockumentary
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ow90CB7BMBUEvidently not a man to stay on one track, Hamill has directed a movie too. The movie is a Mockumentary that focuses on Hamill's fictitious nutball comic fan, Donald Swan. Set mainly at the 2002 Comic-Con, this man is tasked with shooting a documentary about Commander Courage and Liberty Ladd, two legendary comic book heroes whom he loves unabashedly.
The film takes a hefty swipe at Hollywood and comics, delving into the crazy universe within, all seen through the eyes of the daft central character. Though the reviews for the movie were mixed, it did receive a handful of DVD awards. Perhaps the biggest draw from the film, aside from Hamill playing Swan, is the immense cameo list that he managed to pull in. Stars in the film include Kevin Smith, Hugh Hefner, Stan Lee (though frankly Lee cameos are a dime a dozen these days), Bruce Campbell and old super-tall Star Wars buddies Peter Mayhew (who played Chewbacca) and David Prowse (who played Darth Vader). Even J.J. Abrams and the mighty Matt Groening show up. Worth a watch? Decide for yourself in the trailer above.
