10 Things You Need To Know About Aquaman

6. There Will Be Some Seriously Scary Moments

James Wan is also a horror aficionado, having directed Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring as well as producing Lights Out, Annabelle and all the Saw sequels. He can visualise a creepy concept, build tension and orchestrate a jump scare like few other filmmakers working today. You might have thought this was irrelevant to Aquaman, but Wan disagrees.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Wan revealed that he's excited by the opportunity "to bring a bit of [his] horror element into this" because "the deep sea is a scary world." It sounds like this is one of the reasons he came on board with Aquaman; because he can see ways to blend his eye for horror with his action experience. There aren't many franchises that have room for both.

From a fan perspective, this is yet another reason to be excited about Aquaman - the DC movies have been dark so far, but they haven't been scary. This is new, intriguing territory, which could open up the DC universe into a whole new genre.
