10 Things You Need To Know About Aquaman
7. The Action Will Be Off The Chain
If there's one thing to be sure of in this life, it's that James Wan can direct action. Fast & Furious 7 proved this beyond a doubt, with Wan delivering a high-octane thrill fest that earned the car-centric franchise its biggest box office total of all time. The evidence that Wan has serious directorial talent goes all the way back to his first feature, Saw, which made a dirty bathroom feel thrilling against all odds.
Snapping Wan up for Aquaman was a great move by Warner Bros. While Sony and Marvel gave their standalone Spider-Man movie to Jon Watts (who's utterly untested in the action world), Warners and DC nabbed themselves one of the hottest action directors in the world right now.
He'll inherit some material from Zack Snyder, who will introduce Aquaman in his Justice League film, but there should still be room for Wan to create his own visual ideas and massive action sequences. The ocean is a big place, and it'll be a treat to see how Wan utilises it.
