10 Things You Need To Know About Mission Impossible 7

2. It Won't Shoot In Space... Or Will It?

News broke earlier this month that Cruise looks set to one-up the Fast and Furious franchise and beat them to actually filming beyond the constricts of the earth when it was confirmed that he was intending to shoot an upcoming project in space. Given that Mission: Impossible remains, by some distance, his most boundary-pushing regular endeavour on the big screen, it wouldn't be too far a leap to wonder if the next installment is that very project.

Not so, according to McQuarrie though, who echoed the sentiments of the industry trades that indicated Cruise's plot to team up with SpaceX would have nothing to do with the IMF. "What is happening in seven is so insane, we don't need to go to space," he quipped when asked on Light the Fuse.

But could the director be playing mind games? After all, it's not too much of a stretch to imagine a world crisis where Hunt is forced to pull his own version of Moonraker - only going one step further than Roger Moore and actually making it off-planet in the shooting process.
