10 Things You Never Knew About Ferris Bueller's Day Off
5. A Lot Of Lines Were Improvised
This movie has a bunch of improvised lines that you would never have guessed werent written. Theres a scene when Grace, the secretary, pretends to be the principal and improvises all of her lines. Theres another scene where Ferris is playing the clarinet horribly, which is also completely improvised. And who could forget Ben Steins famous economics lecture? No, the whole Bueller? Bueller? line wasnt made up on the spot, but the rest of his lines were. The actor wasnt even originally meant to be onscreen. He was only supposed to do a voiceover while the camera showed the class, but Hughes changed his mind once he met Stein.
