6. The Film's Book Transitions Were A Family Affair

Some of the funniest - and simplest - moments throughout the movie are the book of the film transitions used to montage the collection of the Knights. It was an incredibly creative way to bring the characters together and allowed for some clever humour.

Something that you might not know about these transitions is the fact that they are full of family members. The infamous gorilla hand that appears is that of Terry Gilliam, with a glove purchased at a joke shop - proving you don't need a huge budget to be funny.

The hand of the page turner themselves was that of Gilliam's wife, Maggie Weston. She was a make-up artist who would go on to work with her husband on his later directorial projects such as Brazil and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.

Finally, the appropriately titled "Sir will not be appearing in this film" was a photo of Michael Palin's son Thomas.
