10 Things You Won’t Believe Were Cut From Spider-Man Movies
5. Dr. Ratha's Death (Amazing Spider-Man)
Watching the theatrical cut of The Amazing Spider-Man, you might wonder why Irrfan Khan's Dr. Ratha suddenly disappears midway through the movie. Or maybe you won't, since he wasn't exactly a memorable character.
Regardless of your feelings towards the scientist, you can discover his ultimate fate in this deleted scene, which definitely should have been included in the final product. The sequence shows the doctor confronting the Lizard at gunpoint, and that doesn't end well for him. A mutated Curt Connors ends up biting his head off.
As well as adding extra action and a bonus fatality to the film, this deleted scene includes all kinds of extra context about Peter Parker's heritage, why Richard Parker's research was so important, and the Lizard's plan to infect the city.
Why it was cut remains a mystery, because without it, Ratha's sudden disappearance became a minor plothole.
