10 Things You Won’t Believe Were Cut From Spider-Man Movies
6. Miles Morales Is Name-Dropped (Spider-Man: Homecoming)
Spider-Man: Homecoming didn't just mark the iconic hero's Marvel Cinematic Universe solo debut, it confirmed that another version of the web-slinger exists in the world of the Avengers.
During the scene where Spidey attempts to interrogate Donald Glover's Aaron Davis, the petty crook makes a reference to his nephew, who fans of the comics will know as alternate universe Spider-Man Miles Morales.
It was a subtle plug that could hint at big things to come in the MCU, but an extended version of the sequence included with Homecoming's home media release went a fan-pleasing step further by actually name-dropping Miles.
"Yeah, sorry, Miles, I'm not gonna make it," says Glover's character over the phone while still bound by Spidey's webbing, marking the first official mention of young Morales in live-action cinema.
Although this isn't the most action-packed footage ever to be deleted from a Spider-Man film, it's one of the most fan-pleasing, since it's concrete evidence that Miles Morales is at large in the MCU.
