10 Things You Won’t Believe Were Cut From Spider-Man Movies
3. The Triskelion Cleanup (Spider-Man: Homecoming)
This deleted scene from Spider-Man: Homecoming is called 'Triskelion Cleanup' and that name should trigger a pang of recognition among the MCU diehards.
It is, of course, a call-back to Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Triskelion was the headquarters for SHIELD before Steve Rogers obliterated it while bringing down Project Insight and purging Hydra from the organisation.
In the cut sequence, Peter Parker and his classmates Ned and MJ travel past what's left of Triskelion while the cleanup operation is going on. Ned believes Cap's actions there were to "save us from tyranny" while MJ begs to differ.
The scene gives fans insight into how the events of The Winter Soldier were perceived by the people of the MCU, or its youngsters at least. If nothing else, it's a cool reference to one of the best movies in the series so far.
