10 Things You Won’t Believe Were Cut From Spider-Man Movies

2. Peter's Self-Built Web Shooters (Spider-Man)

One thing about Sam Raimi's Spider-Man which divided fans was Peter Parker's organic web shooters. Traditionally, Spidey uses his scientific know-how to fashion his own, but the original trilogy had the webbing coming straight out of his wrist.

It seems Raimi and his creative team were close to going down the comic book route and have the hero build DIY web shooters, as seen briefly in this deleted scene.

The footage is an alternative version of the sequence which shows Peter getting to grips with his powers and would have fallen right before the moment with the blatant Dr Pepper product placement and the smashed lamp.

The organic web shooters were an idea Raimi inherited from James Cameron's abandoned Spider-Man movie from years earlier, and they didn't add much to the story. Sticking with the source material would have been a better call here.
