10 Thoughts Every Guy Had While Watching Fifty Shades Darker

3. "Why On Earth Is This Movie So Long?"

Fifty Shades Darker is just shy of two hours long, at one hour fifty-eight minutes.

Mercifully, it's also a whole seven minutes shorter than the first entry, but that doesn't make it an acceptable runtime for a story that could've been told much more succinctly.

The film could've easily been trimmed to one and a half hours, or one and three quarters - and would've been all the better for it.

At the 90 minute mark, this thought will cross your mind, and you'll start to wonder about the questionable decision behind that two-hour runtime. Why not make the movie shorter? That way, more screenings can fit in a single day, creating more money-making opportunities for the studio.

By the time you re-emerge from the mathematics rabbit-hole you quickly lost yourself in, Christian will have randomly survived a helicopter crash and you'll be completely at a loss as to why that sequence was even in the movie at all.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
