Jordan Peele’s directorial debut is already making waves, after achieving a 100% Certified ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes following its first 100 critic reviews (although this recently dropped to 99% after a skewering from the National Review). Having opened to a Box Office-topping $30 million in the U.S, Get Out looks set to be one of the most popular thrillers of the year.

Peele’s racially-charged chiller tells the story of a young African-American man, whose life takes a sinister turn when he visits his white girlfriend’s family home. As the man, played by Daniel Kaluuya (Skins, Black Mirror), learns more about his partner’s parents, he discovers that they aren’t as friendly as they first seem.

The film’s trailer alone is a terrifying watch, a showcase of accomplished editing, terrific sound design and uncanny imagery that really sinks its claws into you. Also starring Bradley Whitford, Catherine Keener and Allison Williams, Get Out will probably feature on plenty of end of year lists come December, and is definitely one to track down.
