10 Times 90s Cinema Tried To Reboot 60s Television (And Failed)

9. Dudley Do-Right (1999)

Lost In Space
Universal Pictures

Not content creating just one sub-par, yet enjoyable live-action reboot of a '60s cartoon with George Of The Jungle, Brendan Fraser was at it again in 1999 as Dudley Do-Right, starring alongside Sarah Jessica Parker as Nell Fenwick, and Alfred Molina as the villainous Snidely Whiplash, three years before his performance as Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2.

The show was a spin-off of Rocky And Bullwinkle, which would receive its own god awful semi-live action reboot a year later.

The plot sees Whiplash buy up property in Dudley’s home town with the intent of seeding the river with nuggets as an attempt to trick prospectors into a gold rush. I’m sure a metaphor could be made with the producers of the film and the cinema-going public, but you guys can work that one out.
