10 Times Marvel Movies Negatively Influenced The Comics
6. Spider-Man's Organic Webbing
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy did a lot right as far as the Web-head was concerned (much of its third entry notwithstanding). From the titular hero, his foes and supporting cast, the movies felt like the iconic stories seamlessly leapt off the pages to the screen.
That said, one change made to Peter Parker's abilities did not sit right with fans and its depiction in the comics was even worse. The 2002 trilogy opener saw Parker gain the ability to spin his own web, a far cry from his reliance on the iconic web shooters he built not long after his debut.
To reflect this change, the comics gave the hero organic webbing twice after near-fateful encounters with various villains such as Morlun. Also, his other arachnid-based abilities were greatly enhanced.
As far as many fans were concerned, giving Spider-Man this ability undermined his intellect and resourcefulness (seeing that he created the webbing himself) and robbed some of his exploits of any tension because he no longer had to worry about running out of this value substance in his arsenal.
