10 Times Movies Secretly Spoiled Their Own Story

1. Moon-Gwang "Eats For Two" - Parasite

Bong Joon-ho's Best Picture-winning masterpiece Parasite may be hinged on a major mid-film plot twist, but it's also one which Joon-ho's delicately crafted screenplay expertly builds up to.

The big reveal is that the wealthy Park family's housekeeper Moon-gwang (Lee Jung-eun) has hidden her husband Oh Geun-sae (Park Myung-hoon) in the family's secret basement for the last four years in order to protect him from loan sharks.

This opens up a whole other can of worms, of course, yet earlier in the film there is one particular hint towards the fact that Moon-gwang's up to something fishy.

After the Parks fire Moon-gwang for believing she has tuberculosis, father Dong-ik (Lee Sun-kyun) says she had only one flaw, that "She always ate enough for two."

While Moon-gwang later claims she actually paid for all of her husband's food herself, it is nevertheless a blatant verbal insinuation that Moon-gwang is running a scheme beyond herself.

Plus, there's no guarantee whatsoever that Moon-gwang was actually telling the truth about feeding her husband out of her own pocket.
