3. Cold Blooded Execution - Dr. No
The very first Bond movie, Dr No introduced the character as a suave ladies man. He also displayed a level of ruthlessness that tops most of the other films in the series. In one of his most cold blooded moments he ambushes and executes the evil professor Dent after interrogation. Dent had tried to kill Bond at least three times and in his final moments made a last ditch attempt to shoot him, only to find his gun empty. Bond grimly informs Dent that hed emptied his clip and shoots once to kill, and again just to make sure. What makes this moment so chilling is not that Bond kills a defenseless man but that he looks almost bored doing it. He has no emotion about it one way or another and even sticks around to sleep with Dent's assistant afterwards before having her arrested, meaning he could easily have had Dent arrested too. Interestingly, this portrayal of 007s dark side is probably the closest the movies have come to capturing his depiction in Ian Flemings novels.
