10 Tired Film Franchises That Desperately Need A Break

Frozen Olaf S Adventure
Disney

Ever since 2013's Frozen and its distinctive success, Disney has been doing everything it can to run the franchise into the ground.

In the years since the first film we have gotten two shorts, a ride, endless commercial tie-ins, a Broadway musical, song covers, and a beverage shack. All while other (read: Better) Disney films such as Tangled and Moana get next to nothing, comparatively.

Of course, the greatest offender of these Frozen-related releases is the most recent one. In front of this past year's excellent, Coco, was a Frozen 'short'. The problem was, the short was actually twenty-two minutes long.

It was later admitted that the 'short' was created with the intention of it airing as a television special, before Disney higher-ups decided to repurpose it. Thankfully, audiences still flocked to the (I cannot stress this enough) wonderful Coco, actively speaking ill of the Frozen short in front of it.

Of course, there is an official Frozen sequel in the works, but Disney could really benefit from giving everything a rest. After all, who thought a franchise centred on the escapades of an ice queen could have us all so burned out?
