30 Minutes or Less is based
very loosely on a real story, though we can only assume the flagrant idiocy on display has been exaggerated for the sake of its comedic merit. The film revolves around two slack-jawed layabouts, Dwayne (Danny McBride) and friend Travis (Nick Swarsdon), who have assembled what they think to be a fool-proof plan to make some money after Dwayne's father (Fred Ward) continues to live past his expectation, freely blowing Dwayne's inheritance. Their plan? To strap a bomb to a pizza delivery boy (Jesse Eisenberg), and force him to rob a bank under the threat of death. It's a dumb plan because it's so out of their control, and naturally, in the end, everything backfires, causing them to both get violently burned, though as we see in the post-credits sequence, they do survive, so I suppose there's that...
