10 Totally Unanswered Questions From Your Favourite Christmas Films

1. Home Alone - Pizza Boy Shooting

Number one on the list would of course go to one of the best Christmas movies of all time, Home Alone. This is the only Christmas movie that I watch when it isn't even close to Christmas time. It's a classic! However, if it weren't for a huge unanswered question, the movie would have ended long before we got to the good stuff. As you all remember, Kevin orders himself a pizza and, when the clumsy pizza delivery boy comes to the door, he is greeted by a less than happy mobster. At first, the delivery boy doesn't take it seriously, but hey, a gig is a gig. After dropping the pizza on the back porch and collecting his money, he complains that there is no tip, a problem that Kevin carries through to the sequel, but I digress. Then, the unthinkable. The pizza delivery boy, who doesn't know what we know (that he's listening to a movie), gets shot at until he leaves the property. He flees to his car and presumably speeds off to the restaurant. In real life, the pizza delivery boy would go to his boss, explain what happened, and the entire police force would be swarming the McAllister property. It wouldn't take long to figure out what really happened and, thus, Kevin's parents would be contacted and Christmas would be saved. However, this doesn't happen. Why?!? Why don't the police show up to investigate an angry customer who presumably opened fire on an innocent pizza delivery boy? Because if this happened, as I said before, the movie would have ended. So, even though it is a classic scene in a classic movie, it left a gaping hole in what should have been a pretty realistic movie. It's not hard to imagine that a child would get left behind in the madness of a destination Christmas. It's not hard to imagine said child would be able to fend for himself. It is, however, pretty impossible to imagine that a pizza boy wouldn't report getting shot at repeatedly with a Tommy gun.
