8. Byung-hun Lee - Terminator: Genisys

Terminator: Genisys kept a tight lid on its story for awhile, and chances are it would have stayed that way if it wasn’t for a weak reaction to the first trailer. It looked like a lame reheating of the other movies, and the story didn’t look especially gripping. They even appeared to be reusing the T-1000 – this time played by Korean actor Byung-hun Lee – as the villain.

The studio probably panicked at this indifferent response, so they released another trailer where they spoiled the whole thing, including the twist that John Connor was the new Terminator. Genisys still would have sucked, but at least this revolution would have been a shock to anyone walking into the cinema blind.

In the movie, this means the poor T-1000 is reduced to a secondary villain, and despite being nearly unstoppable before he gets destroyed without fifteen minutes here. A shame, since Lee brought some genuine menace to a movie in dire need of some.
