10 Unbelievable Behind-The-Scenes Stories About The Room
1. Johnny Was Meant To Be A Vampire
Ok, this is the ultimate Room fact. The weirdest of the weirdest. The King of ridiculous movie trivia. This is the single greatest piece of information to ever exist in the history of history.
So, it turns out that Tommy Wiseau was fascinated by vampires, which would explain like he dresses like one in real life. His fascination almost made it into the final cut of The Room, as was revealed in The Disaster Artist.
Greg Sestero writes that Tommy pitched the idea of a subplot where Johnny was revealed to be a vampire. Yep. An actual, real-life vampire. Who works as a banker in San Francisco. It’s beyond unbelievable.
Furthermore, Tommy even went as far as to ask his crew to devise a stunt in which his car would float above the roof of the apartment. You know the scene with Chris-R and Denny on the roof? That almost had a floating car in it! This movie. Honestly.
Normally, a vampire subplot would ruin any film, but you know what, I’m sad that this didn’t make the cut. Just when you thought this film couldn’t get any worse, you find out that its lead character was almost an undead monster. I guess it’s my our fault for underestimating Tommy Wiseau.
The Room is a truly iconic movie, for one reason or another, and these incredible facts just go to show that. Now go and watch it. Right now.
