10 Unbelievably Boring Horror Movies

4. See No Evil

Slasher films have always been rather paint-by-number. After the success of Halloween, many horror studios sought to create features that centre around a killer hunting down a group of victims.

Traditionally the best way to allow your slasher film to stand out is to give it a unique identity and vibe. See No Evil pretends to try and do this, but ultimately it falls into every cliché and brings nothing to the table to make it stand out amongst an already generic sub-genre.

The film follows a group of delinquents who are sent to clean the Blackwell Hotel. Unfortunately for them the reclusive killer Jacob Goodnight happens to live there and hunts them all down.

One of these victims is a cop who put a bullet in Jacob four years prior to the events of the film. This is an excellent avenue for a conflict within the story. But it goes nowhere as he is killed off so soon, taking away any sense of compelling narrative.

Not even the performance from Glen Jacobs - WWE's Kane - gives this film any personality. It is so mundane in every way it can be, with no clear aesthetic, a boring killer and a complete lack of original narrative.
