4. Shaman

Introduced in Uncanny X-Men #120, Michael Twoyoungmen was an experience surgeon before retreating into the wild, discovering mystical superpowers – including teleportation, astral projection, communion with animals and restoration – and assuming the codename, Shaman. Since then, the character has been recruited by Alpha Flight, and been featured in numerous story-arches.

Firstly, the incorporation of Shaman into the MCU would mean the casting of the first Native-America superhero, which is always good. Besides that, the character is completely unique – avoiding the trope of seeming overpowered or omnipotent – yet possessing numerous mystical superpowers and artefacts – including a magical satchel, which permits the character access to another dimension, an endless void of boundless proportions.

There’s a number of interesting narrative opportunities, introducing further mystical elements into the MCU, potentially creating an interesting dynamic with Doctor Strange.
