3. John Carter (2012)
One of the most unfairly maligned movies of all time, and on top of that a catastrophic failure at the box office. Which is a pity, because the core story is really good. John Carter is a former Civil War soldier who accidentally discovers a way to teleport himself to Mars, where due to the difference in gravity, he essentially has super powers. For the next two hours, we get to watch him rescue princesses, conquer cities, and generally kick Martian butt. A Civil War soldier as a superhero on Mars... need I say more? Give us a franchise already!
