4. That Thing You Do! (1996)

Tom Hanks' directorial debut showed us the story of a fictional 1960s band called The Wonders (originally stylized as The Oneders), and their meteoric rise to fame and subsequent fall. It also features one of the single greatest soundtracks of all time. But the franchise? How could we see more movies about a band that doesn't exist anymore? Easy. Solo careers. The closing credits tell us what all the guys in the band do after the collapse of their band. I for one would love to see a separate movie made following the life of each of the Oneders. No one else? Really, just me? Fine, let's just move on to....
