10 Underrated Acting Performances By Athletes In Movies

8. Vinnie Jones - Snatch

Big Chris, Mad Maynard, The Juggernaut, Brick, Killer, The Boss, Cutty, these are just some names taken from Vinnie Jones' extensive hard man filmography but his most notable performance was as Bullet Tooth Tony in Guy Ritchie's 2000 film Snatch.

Vinnie Jones earned himself a tough guy reputation whilst playing football in the 90s for Wimbledon at the heart of their midfield. That Wimbledon team was so well known for having hard-tackling-snarling-tough-guys that they were nicknamed The Crazy Gang. The scene was perfectly set for Jones' career as a Hollywood heavy hitter.

Much like his run in with legendary footballer Paul Gascoigne, Vinnie Jones grabbed the role as Bullet Tooth Tony by the balls in his portrayal of a Desert Eagle wielding hitman. He goes from effortlessly cool and composed to bloodthirsty madman in the blink of an eye all whilst balancing a pint glass in his hands. Considering the other A-list actors featured in Snatch, Vinnie's performance doesn't seem out of place. Not bad for only his first year of acting.
