3. Celeste And Jesse Forever

Looking at the rom-com genre, it's fair to say that for the most part they deal with new relationships, usually in younger characters. But in the same way that Enough Said subverts this trope and looks at a new relationship later in life, 2012's Celeste and Jesse Forever is a film focusing on a married couple who are drifting apart, but may be rushing into ending their relationship.

Starring fan favourite comedians Andy Samberg and Rashida Jones as the titular couple, the film sees Celeste and Jesse drifting apart after marrying young. Celeste is an ambitious business owner, whilst Jesse prefers to keep things relaxed when it comes to life and work. With this part of their personalities clashing, the pair move for divorce but begin to have second thoughts about their future.

Written by star Rashida Jones, the film gives some amazing performances from its two leads, both of whom are best known for their comedy roles but who have enough talent and maturity to handle the more dramatic aspects of the story. Thanks to its deep likability and sweetness, it's the kind of film you want to watch if what you're after is something to make you laugh-out-loud and think about the finer things in life.
