10 Unreleased Movie Cuts We Want To See After The Snyder Cut

6. Fantastic Four: The Trank Cut

The Invasion Nicole Kidman
Warner Bros.

The very weekend the ill-fated Fantastic Four reboot was set to be released back in 2015, director Josh Trank tweeted that he had created a much better version of the movie that would have gotten great reviews, but that people would never be able to see it.

He might have quickly deleted his social media post but the internet never forgets, and if reassembling new versions of poorly-received movies start to become the industry's new favorite pastime, then why not give him the chance to see if he can back up those words?

The theatrical version of Fantastic Four has very little in the way of redeeming features, so Trank's original take may well have been vastly superior, or it could have been ten times worse. After all, there were reports of high tensions on set, major disagreements with the studio and some strange behavior on the director's part, so it could go both ways.

Either we get an even worse version of what is already regarded as one of the worst comic book movies ever made, or it turns a sh*tshow into a success and ends up as the superhero version of Apocalypse Now.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
