10 Unreleased Movie Cuts We Want To See After The Snyder Cut
3. Solo: The Lord And Miller Cut
Despite Phil Lord and Christopher Miller being fired with just three weeks of filming left, Lucasfilm were reportedly so dissatisfied with how Solo: A Star Wars Story was turning out that replacement director Ron Howard ended up shooting so much new footage that the budget skyrocketed to almost $300m.
Lord and Miller didn't even attempt to try and retain any sort of credit after Howard was said to have re-shot as much as 70% of the movie, and the 21 Jump Street duo's sole contribution came with token executive producer credits after they realized they were fighting an uphill battle in trying to stamp any sort of authority on a production ruled by the iron fist of Kathleen Kennedy.
Justice League might end up setting a precedent for the original directors of box office disappointments returning years down the line to finally put the finishing touches to their project, and fans would no doubt be interested in seeing how two filmmakers so well-known for their irreverent, smart and subversive comedies would have tackled an epic sci-fi set in one of the world's most beloved franchises.
